County and Beyond

My wife and I moved to Georgetown County in September, 2014 when I started as an Edward Jones Financial Advisor and assumed responsibility for a branch office in Georgetown. At the time, I did not know many people and was not familiar with the area. I joined the Chamber and started attending Chamber networking events like Coffee & Contacts and Business After Hours – as well as informational programs like State of the Cities/County and the Legislative Breakfast. I met a wide range of people in both commercial and non-profit organizations. I became very interested in the history, culture and economic drivers of the County, and decided to participate in the Leadership Georgetown program Class XXIV. That program was amazing and I started finding myself in a position to start helping others in our community. Over the past ten years, my business has grown significantly and I credit the Chamber as one of the key drivers of my business growth. Equally important to me, I have been able to contribute to the community by serving as a volunteer and on Boards of several non-profit organizations over the years. I have also been on the Chamber Board for four years, serving as Chair for the past two years. The work the Chamber does supporting and promoting Chamber members, advocating for smart development, educating and informing members about important news and events and delivering quality programs, are all activities that strengthen the community and promote healthy business growth. I would not have had the success for my business, or my own personal growth, if not for my involvement with the Georgetown County Chamber of Commerce.
