Join us for Moveable Feast, luncheons with exciting authors, artists, musicians and historians at area eateries. The Moveable Feast, founded and managed by Linda Ketron, is now in its 29th year. Held at local restaurants weekly throughout the year on Tuesdays or Wednesdays when the presenter or the preferred venue is available, the presentation precedes the meal. For each Feast, the chef prepares a special menu. Food allergies are accommodated with advance notice; vegetarian option always available. Individuals, couples, friends, book clubs, and other small groups are assigned table seating. Although the per feast price has increased in response to increased food and labor costs at the restaurants, your gift certificates or unused three-fer credits will be honored.
Featuring a cast of over 35 of the nation’s most talented performers, The Carolina Opry show spans all genres to bring you the best hits of yesterday and today.
History, Tea & Buc-ee's with Storehouse Tours! The Pee Dee History Gallery in Florence is the largest gallery space in the facility, comprising 3,300 sq. ft. of exhibit space. This permanent collection gallery occupies the entire second floor, east wing of the building. Artifacts on display are supported by historical images and narrative interpretation, providing a comprehensive introduction to the Pee Dee region from prehistory to the present. Highlights in this gallery include: Cretaceous period reptile material, an 18 ft. tall Ancient Bald Cypress trunk sub-fossil, Native American and Colonial period artifacts, Civil War artifacts from the Florence Stockade prison camp and Confederate Naval Yard at Mars Bluff, artifacts related to life and career of former FBI agent and Florence County native, Melvin Purvis and fragments of the MK-6 atomic bomb which was accidentally dropped on the Mars Bluff community in 1958. You also have time to explore the other Art Galleries at the Museum if you would like. We will enjoy a true Victorian Tea which includes a pot of tea, assorted finger sandwiches, a scone with Devonshire Cream and Lemon Curd, and more! And a visit to Florence would not be complete without a stop at Buc-ee?s for some shopping and to grab a snack like Beaver Chips, Beef Jerky, House-made Fudge or a Brisket Sandwich for the ride home!
